How does the timesheet rewards system work?

You set a weekly deadline for timesheet submissions. Every employee who submits before that deadline earns 1 reward point. Points accumulate automatically — no admin work needed. Once an employee reaches the threshold you configure (e.g. 10 points), they receive their reward: an extra holiday day, a custom gift, or whatever you choose.

What rewards can I offer employees?

The default reward is extra holiday days — 10 points converts to 1 bonus day off. But you can configure any reward you like: gift cards, cash bonuses, early finishes, a lunch out, or anything else that fits your culture. The system records the reward but the delivery is up to you.

Do employees see their points balance?

Yes. Every employee can see their current points balance and submission streak in their app dashboard and on the web. The transparency is part of what makes it motivating — employees can see exactly how close they are to their next reward.

What happens if an employee submits late?

Late submissions simply don't earn a point for that period. The employee can see their points balance and understand why it didn't increase. There's no penalty — the system is purely positive reinforcement. Late timesheets can still be submitted and approved normally.

Can I combine rewards with automated reminders?

Yes. TimeTally sends automatic reminders to employees who haven't submitted before the deadline. The combination of reminders (nudge) and rewards (incentive) is the most effective approach — reminders catch forgetful staff, rewards motivate everyone else.

Does the rewards system cost extra?
