How the TimeTally partner programme works

Three steps, from applying to getting paid.

  1. Apply in two minutes

Fill in the short form on this page. We reply, usually within 24 hours on working days, with your personal referral link.

  2. Recommend TimeTally

Share your link with the businesses you work with, or introduce them to us by email. They get a 14-day free trial with no card needed.

  3. Get paid every month

When a business you referred starts paying, you earn £1 for each employee on their bill. We pay you by bank transfer every month for their first 12 months.

A referral programme for the people UK businesses trust

For anyone who advises businesses that employ hourly, part-time or shift-based staff.

  • Accountants and bookkeepers

Payroll starts with hours. Approved timesheets that export to Xero and QuickBooks mean fewer questions from clients at month end.

  • Payroll bureaus

Get each client's hours, overtime and holiday in one export, instead of a spreadsheet you have to check line by line.

  • HR consultants

Give clients one place for holiday, sickness and absence, with UK bank holidays and pro-rata entitlements worked out for them.

  • Business advisers and IT providers

Recommend time and attendance software your clients can set up themselves, at £3 per employee a month.

  • Franchise and multi-site consultants

Run every site from one account. Group staff by site or department to filter and export one team at a time.

  • Industry networks and creators

Advise or write for care homes, hospitality, cleaning, construction or retail? Earn from every business you send our way.

“The app is simple to use, reliable, and makes managing holidays, absences, and staff records straightforward. The system has saved us a significant amount of administration time.”

How partner commission works

One rate, one length of time, paid on what each business really pays.

£1 × paying employees × 12 months

Worked out from each business's bill, every month, for their first 12 months as a paying customer.

Paid on real bills

Commission follows each business's bill. If they add staff, you earn more. If they remove staff or cancel, it goes down or stops.

12 months from their first payment

The free trial doesn't count towards the 12 months. They start when the business first pays for TimeTally at £3 per employee.

Paid monthly by bank transfer

Each month we tell you which businesses you're being paid for, then pay you by bank transfer.

Partner programme FAQs

How much do TimeTally partners earn?

£1 for every paying employee at each business you refer, every month, for that business's first 12 months. A client with 15 staff earns you £15 a month, or £180 over the year. There is no cap on how many businesses you refer.

Who can become a partner?

Anyone who works with UK businesses that employ staff: accountants, bookkeepers, payroll bureaus, HR consultants, business advisers, IT providers, industry networks and writers. You don't need to use TimeTally yourself.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. The partner programme is free to join and there are no targets to hit.

Is this an affiliate programme or a referral programme?

A bit of both. Like an affiliate programme, you earn recurring commission on every business that signs up through your link. Like a referral programme, you can also introduce businesses you know to us directly.

How do you know a business came from me?

Your personal link takes a business straight to sign-up and credits them to you. If a business you introduced signs up without your link, email us their name and we'll sort it out.

When and how do I get paid?

Monthly, by bank transfer. You're paid for every month a business you referred pays us, for their first 12 months, and we tell you which businesses each payment covers. The 12 months start with their first payment, not the free trial.

What counts as a paying employee?

Anyone the business pays for. TimeTally charges £3 a month for each employee who submits timesheets. Managers who only approve timesheets are free, so they don't count.

What if a business adds staff or cancels?

Your commission follows their bill. If they add staff, you earn more that month. If they remove staff it goes down, and if they cancel it stops.

Do I have to support the businesses I refer?

No. Every business gets the same support from our UK team as any other customer. If a client would like a walkthrough first, they can book a demo with us.

Can accountants accept referral commission?

Many do. Professional bodies including ICAEW and ICAS expect firms to get their client's consent and to tell clients what they receive, so mention it in your engagement letter or when you recommend us. Check your own body's rules.

Do I pay tax on partner commission?

We pay the full amount with nothing deducted. It's your income, so declare it the way you normally would. If you're an individual, HMRC's guidance on the £1,000 trading allowance explains when you need to tell them.

Know a business still doing timesheets on paper?

TimeTally covers time tracking, staff rotas, holiday and leave and payroll exports to Xero and QuickBooks. Read how TimeTally works, see every feature, or learn more about us.
