Yes. Each employee can have their own holiday allowance in TimeTally. You can set a default company-wide allowance and then override it for individual employees. For example, senior staff who have contractual entitlement above the statutory minimum can have their higher allowance set individually. Part-time employees have their allowance pro-rated automatically based on their working days.
When an employee leaves, TimeTally shows exactly how much holiday they've taken and how much remains from their pro-rated entitlement up to their last day. Any unused holiday must typically be paid out in the final wage. TimeTally's reports make this calculation straightforward — you can see the exact balance owed at any date. Yes. Because all holiday must go through the formal request and approval process in TimeTally, employees cannot take time off without a corresponding approved entry. Managers see immediately if an employee is absent without an approved holiday request. The system also tracks Bradford Factor scores, which helps identify employees with high rates of short-term absence that may indicate a pattern of unauthorized or unreported absences.
